Nordic Ware Restaurant Cookware 12 Inch Skillet

We Love It!, My husband and I thought we would try this product, having been strictly All Clad people. We were delighted by it from the moment it arrived. It is lighter than we expected and cooks very evenly. We also especially like the removable rubber holder. We have not had it very long at this point, but we anticipate it will last as long, if not longer, than the All Clad. This is great since it is half the cost! We are looking forward to adding more pieces to our collection.
Excellent, (What's this?) Needed a good, sturdy non-stick skillet. This fits the bill very well, and is deep enough for stir-frying as well as sauteing.
Somewhat disapointed, but I'm not throwing it away., (What's this?) I use to feel the same way about non-stick pans as does J. Clevenger--why buy All-clad when the coating is going to wear out before the rest of the pan?

I like the weight of my 12" skillet from Nordic Ware. I like the grip ( I don't use this pan in the oven). The coating is holding up well. My wife and I use it as much as any pan we have.

The only complaint that I have is that the bottom has warped slightly so that it does not sit completely flat on my glass cook top. Having said that, it still functions well, heats quickly, and does everything I want a nonstick skillet to do. The Cusinart 12" pan that I replaced with this one never warped at all but the coating did not last as long as I thought it should have.

All-in-all not bad for the price, but next time I might just consider an All-clad.
Excellant Made-in-USA Non-Stick Skillets, (What's this?) I'm on my third set of 8", 10" and 12" Nordic Ware non-stick skillets. My wife and I are very satisfied with the performance of these skillets. Cooks Illustrated is right, being non-stick, they naturally wear over time, so why purchase expensive brands that will be replaced. These skillets are very well made (riveted handles, long-lasting non-stick surface, multiple layer aluminum, nicely tapered sides) and they heat up quickly and cook evenly. The rubber handles are removable in case the skillet needs to go into the oven. Don't be put off by the phrase "Restaurant grade." These are excellant skillets in the home environment. And, they are made in the USA.
great pan, great price, (What's this?) This is no nonsense restaurant quality cookware. It doesn't have a 4 layer bottom made of layers of copper, iron, Damascus steel and silver. It's not coated with titanium or plated with gold. The handle isn't graceful and elegant. It isn't very pretty. Who cares? If you have to cook a lot, and don't always treat your pans like exquisite kitchen jewelry, this one is for you. This is one tough pan. Nordic is not kidding with the name; this is commercial grade stuff.

The no-stick coating works very well, and it's tough enough to stand up to occasional use of metal utensils. The rubber handle cover comes off for cleaning, and to allow you to put the pan in the oven; you can bake in it if you want to. The metal handle is attached with giant rivets; it's never ever going to come lose.
Great Value, Quality Product, (What's this?) All my other cookware is All Clad d5 or coppper core so when looking to purchase a nonstick skillet, my first impulse was to purchase All Clad. However, after reading the reviews for the Nordic skillet, I decided to take a chance and am so glad I did! This is a great skillet, well made, light but sturdy. I like the coated handle. It cleans up easily. I've used it twice so far and have been extremely pleased. It cooks evenly and is easy to handle. Since no nonstick skillet is made to last forever (the coating usually comes off eventually), this is very good value and performance is comparable to the heaviest of pans.
Great Product, (What's this?) I recently bought a 8", 10" and 12" Nordic Restaurant skillets with lids and I am very happy with the purchase. The skillets are everything they are advertised to be. You notice it from the moment you pick it up. They are heavy and solid and I am sure will give years of great service. And to top it off they are made in the USA...to me that means something.
No point in spending more on non stick, No question that high quality cookware is easier to work with, lasts longer and produces better results. I've been using All Clad for years and swear by it. However, the coating on all non-stick cookware, whether it's All Clad, Calphalon or whatever, wears out over time, no matter how careful you are. So why pay $150 for the name All Clad on a 12" non stick pan when $50 gets you a very similar pan with the same coating from Nordicware? I actually have 8" non sticks from both Nordicware and All Clad and I detect no difference in heft, durability or results. The value is so good that I bought an 8", 10" AND 12" Nordicware for less than one 10" All Clad.
high quality but not high price, (What's this?) I've been using this pan for over a month now and like it a lot. It's very light weight and the non-stick coating is superb. I've been very pleased with it's performance thus far. No need to spend over more for a pan, the non-stick coating eventually wears off on all pans over time. This felt like the right price point for me. I use this pan almost every day. Scrambled eggs come out perfect, and stir fry's were quick and easy. Highly recommend.

MIU France Stainless Steel Universal Fry Pan Cover

Works really well, (What's this?) This lid works really well for those pots or pans that didn't come with a lid. We use it mostly for steaming things in the frying pans and its versatile size works great. It is a good weight of stainless steel as well.
Great asset in the kitchen, (What's this?) This is a very good cover to keep on hand. It's not bulky when storing and can easily fit inside the dishwasher. The small vents that are interspersed throughout help keep the moisture from building up. It would get 5 stars if it were 12" across. Being smaller, the lid rests on the inside edge of my 12" skillet vs. resting on the top edge. Still okay, but an extra 1/2 inch would be better. It's perfect for my smaller skillets.
Using as a fry pan lid...works alright, (What's this?) We leave our frying pan on the stove but of late the cat has developed an obsession with licking it...which is a little gross. Also, the boyfriend likes to cook but apparently can't actually see grease splatters from all his bacon and eggs that coats the stovetop because he never cleans it up.

So this was a solution for both...and it mostly works! Boyfriend likes it as it makes the pan "cook more evenly" he claims, cat licks the top of this instead (still gross, but less so).

It fits the frying pan we have well (11 1/2 in). No warping after several weeks of cooking...nice solid feel.

    Only two complaints:
    1) The top of the lid gets really greasy (on the outside).
Stainless steel pot cover, (What's this?) I originally planned to use this pot cover, which incidentally covers most large pots, when cooking on the stove. However, one time I had placed a pot into the stove to cook (Farberware is okay on this occasion,) and the black handle on top of this pot cover melted and smelled unpleasant to say the least. I hardly used it on top of the stove when this incident happened. The stainless steel did not change, but the unit is almost useless without a handle.
Fits the task, (What's this?) This multisize lid works as described. The holes allow steam to be released to keep food from getting soggy while still redirecting heat back onto it. It helps minimize splatter while decreasing cooking time. Simple and effective.

For some 12" skillets it will be just shy of a good fit. I have a Lodge 12" cast iron skillet which is a bit large for this lid as well as a Calphalon non-stick skillet. Luckily for me I have lids for both so it's a minor concern. For all other pans in my pantry this lid works fine.
Review of Universal Pan Lid, It works fine. It's nice to have a cover now for the pans that don't come with them. I wish there was a smaller version as well.
Best quality lid to fit any pan and pot, As in marriage, there is a pot for every lid, this is the lid for every pot. Had mine a year now, washes up easily, heavy, durable, dishwasher able, works well with it's steam vents and no more clutter, get two or three and toss out every other lid in the kitchen.
Problem Solver, (What's this?) This cover is just the thing. We have several large skillets that have no matching lids. Other "almost fit" lids resulted in condensation dripping onto the glass stove top. This one fit well and no drips. Good solution to a small by pesky problem.

  • 18/10 stainless-steel construction
  • 11-3/8-inch diameter
  • Vented on all sides for excellent release of steam

  • 18/10 stainless-steel construction.11-3/8-inch diameter.Vented on all sides for excellent release of steam. This 18/10 stainless-steel lid is great as a backup covering for large cooking sessions when all lids are in use. The lid is heavily vented, making it especially nice for simmering soups or steaming large quantities of vegetables. Evenly spaced fingernail-sized vents encircle the lid in three tiers to provide excellent release of steam while still cooking food to a tender consistency. The lid has an 11-3/8-inch diameter and a plastic knob that remains cool to the touch during cooking.

    Lodge Logic L14SK3 Pre-Seasoned 15 Inch Cast-Iron Skillet

Amazing Price, (What's this?) This skillet is a really nice one for the price. As member of Prime it shipped for free. My son is quite the cook and has enjoyed it...
Love my giant frying pan!, (What's this?)
Picture Inaccuracy, (What's this?) We bought this cast iron skillet because the picture showed it had places to pour on the sides. Our cast iron skillet does not, so we were excited to see this skillet that did. Well, when we opened it, it did not have places to pour, so the picture was inaccurate. We will keep the skillet, but we were disappointed. It is important that the picture is accurate.
Excellent Product Made in the USA!!!, (What's this?) I love this skillet. IT'S HUGE!!! It's big enough for me to cook things that need different amounts of time by simply starting some food in the center and then moving that to the outer edges while I cook the items with less cook time necessary.
Great product and overseas delivery, (What's this?) I'm in Australia and I bought it for my wife and she loves cooking in it, she LOVES cooking a lot.
A great size for a skillet!, (What's this?) The 15 inch cast-iron skillet is wonderful. The price is the lowest I've found and the quality is terrific. Shipping was free and that is a big deal when ordering cast iron. It was sent very timely after ordering. Handles on both sides make handling the skillet easy. It heats evenly. I use it on both a gas stove and a wood stove. Would not hesitate to order this or like products from Amazon again.
Too big for stove, (What's this?) The product is exactly what was ordered and shipping was fast. The only problem I had was that it was way too big for the stove eye. No one's fault at Amazon, but I wish I had measured my old skillets correctly before ordering.

    Very pleased, (What's this?)
Iron Skillet, (What's this?) This is the biggest and heaviest skillet I have ever used. It overwhelms my burner on the stove and may force me to reposition it over two. But I love the way it cooks, the tall sides, and the quanity of food you can cook at one time. I am not sure the "pre-seasoning" really worked. My food sticks to the point that I think I will need to season it like any other iron skillet. It doesn't really store well because of its size so it stays out on the stove but that expedites cooking so not necessarily a bad thing.
Perfect camp pan!!!, (What's this?) We have a lot of fish fries and we still prefer to pan fry over deep fry and this skillet is perfect! It fits on the outside fryer perfectly and cooks more fish at one time than our deep fryer.

  • Measures 2-1/4 inches deep; lifetime warranty.Preseasoned with vegetable oil formula and ready for immediate use.Versatile 15 inch deep cast-iron skillet for large cooking tasks.Includes looped cast-iron side handle and opposite helper handle; hand wash only.Cast-iron construction heats slowly and evenly. Lodge cast-iron cookware has long been admired for its superior heat retention and even heat distribution, but now the company adds another enticement with its Lodge Logic line. All Lodge Logic cookware, including this generously sized 15-1/4-inch skillet, comes preseasoned via a proprietary "electrostatic" vegetable oil spray system and is ready for cooking right out of the box--unlike traditional Lodge cookware, which needs seasoning in your home oven before use. During the timesaving preseasoning process, oil penetrates deeply into the cast-iron surface while a high-temperature gas oven seals it in, preserving the cookware for generations and creating an attractive heirloom finish. The skillet measures 15-1/4 inches in diameter and 2-1/4 inches deep--an ideal size for large tasks such as cooking a stack of pancakes or making a family portion of scrambled eggs. The vessel is also suited for roasting vegetables, searing steaks, or making quesadillas, as its cast-iron material delivers a smooth, consistent temperature without wasting heat. The pan's esteemed heat retention particularly enhances slow-cooking recipes that call for tender meats and rich, seasoned flavors. Chefs will also appreciate the durable handle with a loop on the end for hanging, along with the opposite helper handle that aids in transport--a necessity when cooking with heavy cast iron. And finally, the skillet includes a couple of side indentations that facilitate smoother pouring. Lodge recommends hand washing the pan with a stiff brush and hot water for best results. The skillet also comes with a lifetime warranty.

Rachael Ray Stainless Steel Nonstick 12-Inch Open Skillet, Orange

some NICE cookware,   | PermalinkComment Comment

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars really great skillet, This skillet is not only great for cooking, but because of its stainless steel exterior, it gives off a nice look to any kitchen. The skillet is big and there is enough room to cook lots of different things. The handle stays cool to the touch. I have used it for a while now and it still looks new. I always dry it after though, because i do not want water spots from letting it dry in the dish rack. really easy to clean!!

Keep an eye out for it though at Home Goods because I found it there for 20 dollars back in February.! Its way cheaper than overpaying for it.
Loving this skillet!!!, (What's this?) I purchased this skillet about 2 weeks ago based on a recommendation from a friend that has a RR cooking set. I was in the need of a new large skillet after the non-stick in my older Revere Pan had started to peel. I was hesitant to purchase at first due to the slightly high price point...however, so far I have not regretted my purchase. I have used the pan several times so far to make items such as grilled chesse, french toast, taylor ham, and a one dish chicken and mushroom dinner with gravy. The pan has proved to be terrific in the non-stick feature as all my foods released with ease and clean-up was a breeze. The pan heats nice and evenly and is surprisingly light in weight compared to my very heavy old 12" Revere Traditions Skillet. Love the silicone handle feature. Loved how this pan worked for me so much that I actually ordered the smaller 8" Stainless Skillet as well.
Really works, (What's this?) I purchased this pan after buying the 8" version so I could try it out. Loved it so much that I decided to get the larger version. Use them both almost every day and the finish is still great. They clean out with only hot water so don't even have to use soap unless you want to. They are made very well yet not as heavy as the cast iron skillets I was using. Plan to get the 10" size in the future to replace the same size pans I purchased from another supplier that was supposed to be the last set I would ever need. Those pan started to stick in less than a month.
So Far, So Good, (What's this?) Nice pan for the money. Well made, nice weight to it. Instructions say that it is not necessary to use a non-stick spray or similar.
Sturdy and affordable, (What's this?) This is a weighty pan. It sits flat on my ceramic cooktop and I doubt it will warp. I don't cook higher than med high which is recommended, and everything comes out great, from eggs to burgers. Wash up is a breeze. I can't afford those "label" pans and these do the trick very well.
Where's the lid?, (What's this?) I bought this for my wife as a present and was expecting there to be a lid. So now have to find the lid separately. For this kind of money I did expect a complete package.

Part of Rachel Ray's stylish stainless-steel cookware line, this roomy 12-inch skillet is perfect for making family-size fare and party portions. Stainless steel heats quickly and evenly, and the aluminum-capped base adds both energy efficiency and improved heat retention. Plus, the nonstick interior means that the pan doesn't react to acidic foods, resists corrosion and scratches, and cleans easily with just a sponge. The large cooking surface and semi-deep, tapered sides also maximize space and nicely accommodate utensils like spatulas and whisks (just remember, use wood or plastic to protect the finish). For cool, ergonomic transport, the stick handle is arched high and covered with grippy orange silicone that's oven-safe to 400 degrees F. It is attached to the body with two heavy bolts for long, break- and warp-free service. Like the rest of this line, the saucepan glows with a lovely satin finish and has a lifetime limited warranty.

Cuisinart 622-36H Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 14-Inch Open Skillet with Helper Handle

I love this pan; the "most helpful" negative reviews are several years old!, (What's this?) I have used this pan over a year and a half, and love it. No elbow grease needed; it cleans with just an easy wipe with a soft sponge. Best pan I ever had. I observe that although several people have complained that the non-stick coating deteriorates quickly (six months or so), their reviews (the ones I noticed) date from 2006 and 2007. More recent reviews (the ones I noticed) do not complain. I suspect that Cuisinart's non-stick coating has improved over the years, and my advice is to check the dates of the reviews.
fry pan, (What's this?) Love Love this small fry pan, great for single cooking and small amounts, used it alot and still looks new....
Great little skillet, (What's this?) This replaces an identical item which was part of a set purchased at a dept store. This little 8 incher is a real workhorse for 1 or 2 people. This is without doubt the best non-stick cookware I have used. Just hand wash and remember that no non-stick surface lasts forever, and you'll be pleased.
Does what it's supposed to., (What's this?)
Great, but heavy, (What's this?) This is a great, non-stick pan, but heavier than I expected and would have liked. Works well for eggs etc.
One of the best crepe pans around, (What's this?) My children just counted...I have made over 5000 crepes in my life. Obviously they are a family favorite. I make them for all holidays, weddings, and whenever the grandchildren are over. I am very particular at this point about the skillet I use. I have used Cuisinart skillets for many years. I recently purchased this one for my son who lives in another state. The plan, my son says, is so that I can have the right pan to use when I come to visit. I would recommend this pan for any hard core crepe maker. It holds up well, enduring 4 hour long stints of flipping crepes. It cleans nicely, the handle doesn't get too hot, and they store easily inside each other. I am happy with the service, delivery and product. I would buy from this seller again.
Light-weight, not for flat surface, (What's this?) Nice enough pan, especially for the price and size. It's very light and great that it's oven-safe. However, the bottom is not flat and so it does not sit on my flat-top stove well. Everything shifts to one side or the other. I have to return it because of that.
great little pan for a couple eggs, (What's this?) I normally try to cook with Le Creuset or non-coated stainless clad aluminum whenever possible, but for eggs and some fish preparations a quality non stick pan is essential. This particular line of Cuisinart pans is thick anodized aluminum with a teflon like interior. In addition, the one piece cast handle is considerably more comfortable than All-Clad's and quite elegant as well.
best thing since sliced bread!, Non-stick for reals!

I don't know if the people giving this thing low ratings are even talking about the same thing cuz mine is nothing like the ones they complained about!

Everything comes up soooo easily! Hmm, does that mean pot-stickers won't stick? Nope.
Hoping for a replacement from Cuisinart, This past week I was cooking for my kids using one of my Cuisinart pans (Model #622-20 8" skillet) which I generally enjoy and use daily. All of a sudden I hear a loud "Pop" from the pan. I knew immediately what the sound was. Several years ago, one of Cuisinart pan bolt covers blew off while I was cooking and just missed hitting me in the head. I thought that was a fluke and so have continued using your products. Now I realize it wasn't a fluke, there is a serious design and/or manufacturing issue with your pan bolts.

    All-Clad Master Chef 2 8-Inch Fry Pan

Love the All-Clad MC2 8-inch fry pan, (What's this?) This is by far one of our most-used pans -- in fact we bought a second! It suits small jobs, such as sauteing smaller amounts of veggies or garlic. And despite the fact hand washing is recommended, we have been washing these in the dishwasher with no apparent problems. Has stood up to years of use and is still going strong. Highly recommend this product.
Check the details!, (What's this?) I ordered this pan, thinking that it was stainless. Turns out, MC2 is NOT induction compatible. So back this goes... Don't make the same mistake that I did. I can't give the pan a bad rating; I'm sure it works fine for its intended use...
All-Clad is the best overall, The ongoing debate over cookware at my house is over: All-Clad is the best cookware overall and is worth the extra money. Our coppers tarnish and require retinning. Our encapsulated disk cookware (Reverer and Farberware) suffer from loose and broken plastic handles and too-small disks which limit the cooking area of the fry pans. The biggest debate was between Calphalon and All-Clad. My wife really liked the lighter weight of Calphalon's anodized aluminum stuff. After living for both for several years, All-Clad has shown its overall superiority in the following ways:
    1) Denser anodized finish. The All-Clad LTD finish is much denser and more even that that on Calphalon. This makes it more attractive and easier to clean. On the MC2 stuff the finish is not anodized, but it is tightly frosted and well made. It's quite attractive too. I've started to accumulate MC2 stuff because it's cheaper and performs just as well. The LTD stuff does look better on a rack mixed with Calphalon. It's tough to beat black aesthetically.
    2) Greater heat sensitivity. You actually cook with the stove set to a lower temperature with All-Clad. It appears to register changes more quickly. Both types of pan are good in this reguard - but the All-Clad is noticeably better.
    3) Bend proof - aluminum is soft and thinner areas can bend. All-Clad's steel cladding makes it tough as a tank.
    4) Immune to interior wear-out. Anodized finishes eventually wear out - which on the interior of a pan can be a disaster (this is especially so if you use steel wool). The stainless steel interior of this pan is NEVER going to wear out.

As a fry pan, the All-Clad MC2 12" fry pan hits on all cylinders. It's big enough for a 4 egg omlette, or most of pound of bacon. It's battleship built, well balanced, even heating with great sensitivity. The handle stays cool and is angled so that you can lift the heavy contents without undue strain on your wrist. The MC2 finish is durable and very attractive. You can clean it very effectively with Ajax. The MC2 finish will yellow a bit over time. Real chefs just let it get brown. After using it for months and letting it get nice and brown I tried cleaning it with the 3M scrubby and Ajax/Comet cleanser I use with the LTD finish and it worked like a charm on the MC2. Just make a nice paste and power away the burnt on grease in moments leaving a nice buffy shine.
Awesome!, We have been using ours now for about three months and this thing is a heirloom in the making. The heat is so perfectly spread across the surface and the craftsmanship is just outstanding! We are now investing in a complete set.
Handle gets hot, (What's this?) I bought the 8" fry pan to try All-Clad products, and after using Belgique cookware for the last 15 years or so i wanted to try something new, so i purchased the All-Clad fry pan to test their products. After using this pan for four or five times i have decided not to try any more All-Clad products, mainly because the heat from the pan creeps up the handle, and i am not used to using pot holders when cooking on the stove top.
quality, (What's this?) I was looking for cookware that will last a lifetime, and for frying pans, decided on All-Clad. The quality compared to the starter set that my wife and I had is unbelievable. Foods brown so much more evenly and just plain taste better. When you learn to turn down the heat and add just a little healthy oil, they are fairly non-stick. Cleanup for the interior is easy, and for scorched pans, I would recommend having Bar-Keepers Friend handy. As far as the MC2 line, it's not for everyone. If you're all about the shine, I'd stick with the stainless line. If you like a pan to have that professional 'well loved' look on the outside, you won't be disappointed in MC2. I love the brushed finish on the exterior and could care less that it's now building a brown patina. I find it looks nicer than a stainless exterior, but again, personal taste on that one.

There are justified complaints about All-Clad handles. At first they sat uncomfortably in my hand; especially the larger pans. For me, it was just a matter of finding how to hold the pan. I now rest the ball of my hand on the top of the end of the handle. Heavy loads no longer press into my hand and it's become a non-issue.

With this purchase, we now own a 10", 12", and 8" fry pan. I'd say I get the most use out of the 10". It's a great pan for an omelet, a good size for frying veges, and browning chicken breasts for the family. We are a family of 4 and the 12" pan is heavily used as well. A load of veges for the family and quesadillas work well in the 12". The 8" was my first purchase as the price was enticing. It's nice to have around for scrambling two eggs or when just browning two chicken breasts.

Before I went with All-Clad, I took a hard look at the Cuisinart line. The price is better, and the quality appears the same, but I just had more faith in the made in America product that All-Clad is.

I also considered high end copper. When frying you will be tossing the pans around a fair amount, and I was afraid the weight of copper would detract from the pans' use. I could be wrong on that, but after picking up a cast iron pan, which is about the same weight as 2.5mm copper, it felt a bit heavy to me for the larger pans.
The Best Saute/fry Pan I have ever used., (What's this?) I have used many kinds of Sauté/fry Pans in my life and I like it the best. It's easy to clean and heats evenly. I like it so much I plan on getting one that is smaller. Granted there are times when my 30 yr old cast iron pan works best. But that is just for frying chicken and Chicken fried steak. Cast Iron maintains heat better.
Great pan, (What's this?) but, don't really like the master chef bottoms.. it wears off easily.. and the rim is very sharp.. be careful when cleaning

but its still an awesome pan..
A Love Affair For A Lifetime, (What's this?) This is fabulous cookware! It heats evenly, releases beautifully and cleans up easily. After three years, I don't always say it out loud, but I always think it at some point during use and cleanup of this pan: I LOVE this pan!
    Worth every penny.
Top of the Line, (What's this?) We needed a good, easy to clean 8" fry pan. This is a well constructed skillet with a handle that stays cool. We use it for eggs and such and it is so easy to keep clean. There is little food sticking even though it isn't tefflon and the heat distribution is perfect.

Key to its high performance is a three-ply, bonded construction. The interior is highly polished so it's stick- as well as corrosion-resistant. Handles, rivets, and tight-fitting lids are all gleaming stainless steel. This classic, slope-sided frying pan illustrates the Master Chef line's stylish yet practical design. It's 8 inches in diameter, perfect for searing a hunk of halibut or hanger steak.

Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 8-Inch Omelet Pan

    PAN, (What's this?)
No lid with this pan, Although the advertisement indicates that this pan comes with a lid you will not receive one and no one at customer service will know why not. Best look elsewhere if you need a lid with this pan.
Love this pan, I don't know what the other reviews are about, but this pan isn't advertised with a lid. Most 8-12 inch pans don't come with lids. However, if you buy the VERY inexpensive Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 2 quart chef's pan from Amazon (which is an amazing deal) that lid fits this pan perfectly. I actually have 2 other lids from other Calphalon One pots/chef's pans that fit this little guy.

The weight is nice. Perfect for small portions. Cooks evenly and clean up is very easy. I love this thing and I am using it just as much as my 10 inch pan which gets used very frequently.
It's not SUPPOSED to have a lid., Great pan for a good price.
If you follow the instructions to preheat the pan, things don't stick. I've used this pan several times a week since I bought it some months ago, and the only time I had anything stick was when I didn't let the pan get warm first.

Other things I like about the pan are that it is easy to clean, the handle stays nice and cool, and it has a nice balance/weight to it.

The negative reviews based on the absence of a lid are misleading. There is no claim made in the description that the omelet pan comes with a lid. The skillet comes with a lid, yes, but not the omelet pan. (Most decent omelet pans don't come with lids.
Love this pan, (What's this?) I absolutely love this skillet. It's a good size for small dishes, and it's very good quality. I won't ever use it for a dinner I suspect, but for a couple eggs, or small amounts, it's awesome. Still looks nice too.
Ordered these pans twice----Still no lids!, THE ONLY REASON I EVER ORDERED THESE PANS IS BECAUSE THEY COME WITH THE LIDS.. !!.. Pans this size are hard to find lids for & for the PRICE aren't WORTH it without LIDS... This pan as decribed is to come with LIDS. But I've ordered them twice 4 pans in all & still no LIDS.. So I'm requesting a Refund this time.. I have purchased many of these pans from this company & they are very nice . Well worth the Price.. TOO BAD THIS PAGE IS MISLEADING.. I'm Ready when they get LIDS!! Reason for only two stars is NO LIDS... The Pan Rocks..
omelet pan, (What's this?) This pan is nothing like I expected. Omelets should easily slide out of the pan if cooked correctly. Every omelet, whether using Pam, oil or butter stuck to the pan. Even plain eggs stuck. Very disappointed with the pan.

  • Stainless-steel omelet pan

  • Stainless-steel omelet pan.Lifetime warranty.Stay-cool, stainless-steel handle.Lid is oven-safe to 450 degrees F and dishwasher-safe; not broiler-safe.Pan is oven-, broiler-, and dishwasher-safe. Perfect flips, and no flops! Calphalon's Contemporary Stainless omelet pans feature a thick, flat, wide bottom for quick, even heating and cooking with little to no oil. The gently sloping sides allow the omelet to glide freely, flip in one quick motion, and slide easily from the pan to your plate. Plus, cleanup is easy. The rolled stainless-steel Cool Touch handle conducts heat more slowly than cast-iron handles, so it stays cool on the stovetop. It's sure to bring out your sunny side.

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 10-Inch Omelette

Surprisingly good, I am a sudden fan of Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless. I recently purchased an All-Clad pan and had to send it back, because the quality was terrible. The bottom was actually convex. So, I bought a Calphalon 10-inch Tri-Ply just to try it out. I didn't expect much. Wow, was I wrong. This pan is great, and it costs comparatively nothing. I really don't understand why this pan isn't more popular, and All-Clad gets all the press.
Great Pan, I own several pans from the Calphalon Tri-Ply collection and believe these are great pans for many uses. Anyone saying these pans don't clean easily is clearly doing something wrong. These pans are not "non-stick" so yes, there may be some elbow grease involved from time to time, but good luck searing a piece of meat with a non-stick pan. These pans do get hot easier and faster than some cheaper pans, especially because a lot of cheaper pans only heat the bottom of the pan by heating an encapsulated disc bonded to the bottom where as these pans heat throughout the entire pan. Make sure when using these pans you get them nice and hot and make sure you have some fat in the pan before adding food. Bar Keepers Friend works great at removing residue stuck on the pans that dish soap usually isnt able to remove on its own.
Excellent pan for the price, (What's this?)
Great pan!, (What's this?) I like the Calphalon Tri-Ply series a lot and have about 5 other pots from the series and they are all great. It only made sense to add one of their pans also. Cooking with stainless is nice because all you taste is the food not the pan.
Perfect frying pan once you learn how to use it!, After decades of using nonstick frying pans, returning to stainless steel took some rethinking of the cooking process. I'm making the switch from non stick in my cooking so this pan was a much longed for replacement.

Initially I was quite disappointed with the pan and thought that I had a future of scraping burnt-on food and crusts every morning. However, if you read the instructions carefully and have a bit of patience this pan works beautifully.

Many of the other reviews have mentioned this and I will repeat that the pan heats up Very Quickly! Add a bit of oil (more than you would on a nonstick), use medium heat and then throw on the ingredients only when the pan is good and hot. This takes very little time due to the construction of the tri ply layer and excellent heat conduction.

For the times that I did end up burning things onto the pan or using it with too little oil, filling the pan with warm water and a squirt of dish soap loosened things up after letting it sit for a couple of hours.

I have not had to use anything more than a gentle cleaning sponge and a dish brush to clean the pan.
Big disappointment, (What's this?) The Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 10" omelette pan is impossible to clean, using the instructions and restrictions provided with the pan. After just a very few uses, the inside of the pan has become impossibly coated with irremovable, baked-on oils. I use oil quite sparingly and expected to be able to wipe the pan clean with a mild detergent and, at most, a Dobie pad. Nothing has worked to remove the brown splatters; they seem to be permanently part of the steel finish now.
saute' pan, (What's this?) I purchased this pan to replace an existing sauté pan, I was amazed with the price and quality.
I am a retired chef and I guess only no quality and display and falls into that category I will buy more of the same line of hands as I need to replenish the ones that I go through it home. Whether you are any serious Chef or A chef want to be this is definitely the pan for you, being stainless steel very easy to clean and with care nothing burns in it.
prepare a blowtorch for cleaning, Horrible pan - followed all the manufacturer's instructions to the letter - cooking anything in this pan results in major cleaning experience.

First time I used pan it was so horrible to clean I contacted manufacturer to see if I was missing something, basically no but to get a special cleaner called "barman's friend" to clean it as regular dish detergent did almost nothing.

Bought the product and cleaned pan then started all over again - same results -- terrible to clean even with recommended "tough cleaning" product - took over 15 minutes of significant elbow grease to get pan reasonably clean -- contacted manufacuter again and basically told "you must be doing something wrong" - I was not

After 2nd use I put pan in box and got rid of it.
Great skillet, (What's this?) Fantastic deal on a great skillet. Handle is has comfortable grip. Even heating, heats quickly. Make sure not to turn heat up past medium. This definitely heats much more quickly and thoroughly than the non stick pans that I had prior to this. Clean with barkeeper's and it stays looking very good. I do wash mine in the dishwasher-no problems as of yet.
nice pan, but handle not well designed, I like the nice, large size of this pan, however, the handle is too narrow, not substantial enough, to make it ergonomically well designed. It actually hurt my wrist as I tilted it to the side to remove the contents of the pan, or to wash it. It really needs a helper handle as well, because it is so heavy.

Gourmet Chef 9 Inch Stainless Steel Fry Pan with Lid

Not the item in the picture, (What's this?) We were looking for a pan with vertical sides as shown in the picture. That is not what we received. If the product has changed then the photo should be updated.
Handle broke off within a few weeks, (What's this?) The handle fell off within two weeks while cleaning it. Cheap construction and not worth a dollar. Don't waste your money on the pan.
Poor Quality, (What's this?) I haven't used this pan yet, but when I took it out of the box and washed it, the handle was loose. I had to tighten the handle with a Philips screwdriver. It doesn't seem to be very well constructed and is extremely lightweight. It seems cheap to me, and I don't think I'll be buying any other merchandise made by this company.
very good product, (What's this?) This is olne of the best frying pans I have ever used, Cooks food evenly, heats fast, and cleans like a dream. I have seared meats in it and the stuck on residue comes off easily with minimum scrubbing.
    I have Two complaints:
    The handle constantly needs tightening.
The knob in the middle of the glass lid is mounted on a metal ring. This ring gets very hot, and, when lifting lid, fingers can get burned by this ring, as I found out the hard way.
Nice pan for the price, (What's this?) This pan is okay. I needed this size pan with a lid and this is all I could find. I agree with most of the other reviewers about the handle coming loose numerous times and the fact that it's not a super quality pan. Having said all that, because of the reviews I was prepared. I made sure I checked to make sure the handle was secure before I used it.
The handle easily got loose!, (What's this?) I purchased this item last Nov. 6 2009. And yesterday was Jan. 30, 2010. The handle got loose now. I dont know how to tighten it. It easily gets clean and neat after I wash with soap and put a little bit of Crema Brite on it to make it shiny and flawless. I think that is the only disadavantage, the handle! Overall, I am not really very satisfied.
Normal pan.., (What's this?) I rate it with 3 stars because is not thick as i want it to be, but otherwise, great pan.
Amazon was worse than the pan, (What's this?) A perfectly good steel pan at the price except the handle broke while cooking. Amazon replaced it but then sent conflicting messages. The first said throw the old one out, your replacement is free. OK, done. Then I started getting messages to return the old one or I would be charged for two pans. My emails to Amazon were not answered. Finally I found a number for a real human who apparently saw the contradictory emails and let me off the hook. A lot of hassle from Amazon for nothing.
Super value for the money ***Great buy, (What's this?) could not find in the stores ... even Wal-mart didn't have anything close.
Bought For The Lid And The Pan Came Along....., I recently broke the glass lid on a still perfectly good 11 inch frying pan. When I went to the local stores here, I found I couldn't locate a lid without a pan. And as it turns out, you can't find all that many pans that come with lids to begin with. For some reason a lot of frying pans are sold as is, without an cover. Which to me is like selling someone a car without any doors on it. But sometimes you seem to run into that catch 22 situation with certain items. When I came here to Amazon, I not only couldn't find an 11 inch glass lid, but the ones I did find that were a little bigger or smaller were easily $20 or more. Moving up to a new pan with lid easily doubled that amount. When I came across this stainless steel set, I realized that this just may be the best bargain around for a new lid, with a bonus pan along with it. As for the pan itself, it doesn't disappoint. Its a good solid stainless steel with a nice handle, and a perfectly fitting quality lid. It's not the best lid or pan one could own, but certainly a bargain for the price for both. Although I agree with some of the other reviewers here that state that they received a tapered edged pan rather than the one picture, ( I did as well ), it worked put perfectly for me since my other pan is a straight edged one. The lid fits them both just right, and I have a new pan to go with the old one. This pan with lid is not only a quality set for the price, but also ships for free when bundled at the time of this writing. Whether you are in the market for a new lid at this size, or a decent quality set at a great price, I recommend this Gourmet Chef model. Believe me when I tell you they are hard to find even just for one piece alone at this price...

Precise Heat 8-Inch Element Omelet Pan

Omelet pan review, (What's this?) Precise Heat 8-Inch Element Omelet Pan

Was disappointed in the pan because the handle was broken off when it arrive. It was shipped during a very cold time of year, so I speculate cold did not help, but they need to improve the product.
Love the Omelet Pan!, (What's this?) This little heavy weight goes down as one of my favorite pans! It's a great, sturdy little addition to using healthier kitchen equipment. It's easy to clean and produces even cooking.
Precise Heat 8-Inch Element Omelet Pan, (What's this?) Seems to be a quality product.
    omelet pan, (What's this?)
8" Omelette Pan, (What's this?) This frying pan is by far a steal for the price. Very impressed with the quality, weight, how it cooks and cleans up.
Excellent pan and price, (What's this?) Every once in a while Amazon runs a screaming deal. This pan was priced at $8.08, including super saver shipping, about two weeks ago, and that caught my attention. The pan, while made in China, is absolutely gorgeous, heavy, and stamped as waterless cookware. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty card. If the pan fails within the lifetime of the original purchaser, it will be repaired or replaced free. However, you will be responsible for shipping cost both ways. The further good news is that while this pan does not come with a lid, it will accommodate standard 8 inch fry pan lids. I happened to have a Farberware lid that fits perfectly.
Best for the price., (What's this?) On impulse, I bought this pan on a Gold Box special. I received this pan three days ago, and was surprised at the quality. I say surprised because it was manufactured in China and some items I've received from Amazon that had been made in China have been a huge disappointment, but not this purchase.

The weight, fit and finish are all top quality, and I would not have hesitated for a minute to purchase it if I had seen this same pan in a brick and mortar store for twice the price that I paid for it on Amazon.

The bottom of the pan is truly flat and thick, so it would work just as well on an electric cook top as it does on my gas stove.
Love this pan!, I purchased this pan after seeing an in home show for another set. This same pan was price over $150 at the show. I was so happy to find it here for less. So what if it is made in China, they make most of our stuff now days anyway...some that you may not even know. However like everyone else has said watch the pricing on the site. It changes from day to day. Not really sure why.

Nordic Ware Restaurant Cookware 14 Inch Skillet

Great skillet, I like to make scrambled eggs for breakfast before work. This skillet is perfect, as the eggs are evenly cooked and don't stick. Great product.
BEST PAN EVER, Chicken just tastes better on this pan. We have had it for much more than a year and use it 4-5x per week. Only problem is that we cannot find a cover for it.
avoid, (What's this?) Arrived in loose packaging that didn't prevent the nonstick coating from being dinged and chipped. Sides were warped. It is REALLY big. Would take two burners on a conventional sized Whirpool gas range to adequately heat the cooking surface area. Returned for defects mentioned.
Big on top, small on the bottom, If you have been searching for a 14" skillet you no doubt have found that they are big on the top but not so on the bottom; many have a bottom diameter of only 10.5". I contacted Nordic Ware and they told me their 14" skillet has a bottom diameter of 11", bigger than most but not much larger than that of a normal 12" skillet.
We love this pan, It's a large pan, but the heat conducts very well to the outside edges. There are times when a really large saute pan is very useful and this does really well. I use it much more than I thought I would. Great for cooking for a crowd. The non-stick surface is very good.

Norpro Stainless Steel 10 Inch Egg Poacher Skillet Set

Very surprised, (What's this?) I have been looking for a stainless steel poached egg pan for years and this one is fabulous. The eggs cook fast and perfect everytime and the cups clean up beautifully. It's great to have 5 cups, too.I like the glass top so I can see the eggs cooking. There were directions on the box but not in the box so check that and write them down. I haven't used the pan itself for cooking other things and probably never will.I love this pan!!!!I thought the price was OK because I wanted stainless and not the dreaded teflon which we never use.
A Great Egg Cooker, (What's this?) This so far is an excellent egg poacher.
The perfect egg, (What's this?) Like the review title says, It really does poach the perfect egg. All you have to do is use alittle butter or pam to coat the poacher cup put the lid on and let it do its thing. The glass lid lets u keep an eye on things. The stainless steel makes cleanup real easy. The handle on this thing always stays cool. Its alittle pricey but if your tired of over cooking your eggs like I do all the time, this is the poacher for u.
S.S. egg poacher, (What's this?) It's quality heavy metal construction.
I would have preferred a 3-hole but had to settle for the weighty 5-hole.
Great egg poacher, (What's this?) This is a great egg poacher and skillet set. It's just what I wanted. It cleans easily and is very versatile. I've owned the poacher/skillet for 3 months and used it several times.
Finally, beautiful poached eggs!, (What's this?) I read all of the reviews and bought this poacher. I'm an artist, not an engineer, and I would change much of its design but, despite the flaws, I love it. My daughter-in-law questioned why I'd buy a poacher when it's so simple to simply slip eggs into boiling water and, voila, you have poached eggs. I replied that I require my food to be beautiful and please me aesthetically; I don't like the little white tendrils that remain when I poach eggs the old way.

The metal handle on the pan gets very hot as do the small black knobs on the poacher insert pans. Even the large knob on top of the clear lid (very attractive lid) remained hot long after I'd finished eating the poached eggs.

Although I used ghee to lubricate the egg inserts, cleaning them was labor intensive. I'm willing to do this because I would not consider non-stick anything but it took a lot of time to remove the crusted egg white from the stainless steel inserts.

So, why did I give this product five stars? You already know. The eggs were gorgeous and delicious.
Makes great poached eggs, (What's this?) I bought this and have been using it to make poached eggs for eggs benedict... at tailgates (hey, when I'm at the stadium at 9:30am before the early game on sunday, I'm more in the mood for breakfast/brunch stuff than steaks and bbq).

This pan/rack/cup set works great! Follow the directions and you have no worries. Spray some Pam or something like that, and you won't have any sticking issues.

I do have to give a couple of warnings though...

First, you won't be able to just pull the cups/tray out with your bare hands... the handles can get hot and/or the steam will get you.

Second, make sure all knobs are thoroughly screwed in before use. Otherwise, you will get some spinning action with the cups, as noted by one review I read.
wife loves it, (What's this?) My wife loves it; it's not aluminum which is important to us and has a clear glass cover so you can see what's going on, it's easy to clean, it's attractive looking, it can be used as a saute or fry pan as well, and it cooks five eggs so we each get two and our dog gets one, and the price is fair. We're very satisfied.
Beautifully made, (What's this?) I knew what I was looking for when I ordered this pan. I was not disapointed. I came well packaged and with an outstanding finish on the pan...very impressive. I used the pan to cook my poached eggs and it worked great. The depth of the sides makes it handy for many uses. Well worth the money spent....would recommend it for anyone's kitchen.
great poached eggs, (What's this?) I read lots of reviews before I ordered this egg poacher. It exceeded my expectations. It took a while to learn the correct times to get the whites cooked thoroughly and the yolks runny with our electric stove, but I finally did it and they're great. I didn't have any problem picking up the cups with some tongs. I found that regular butter swirled around in the pans worked well and the cooked eggs would usually slip out easily leaving little residue. Sometimes they needed a little help with a knife. They tasted wonderful and I would highly recommend this product. I'm glad I spent the time searching for a quality stainless steel pan with stainless steel cups since I didn't want any more unhealthy, toxic non-stick pans! Yes, you DO get little white spots on the large pan but it doesn't matter at all. This pan has 5 cups - I wish it had 6, but this works.

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Open Skillet, Orange

Love this pan!!!, (What's this?) I purchased this pan after trying out the smaller 8" skillet. I love it! It is a great size, perfect for cooking a one dish meal for my family. It cleans up really nice even without using a dishwasher (which is not recommended).
3 yrs now and no peeling, still performs very well., This is a well made product. I do not have a dishwasher and always use plastic type utensils. Before now other brands had started to peel and or flake. Heats evenly too.
Good Pan, (What's this?) Very good pan. My wife loves Racheal Ray stuff. Our cabinets are full of her pans.Shipping was fast. Thanks Amazon.
Misrepresented item, (What's this?) This is a well made, reasonably priced, but, misrepresented skillet.
If a skillet is advertised as a 12 inch skillet, it should have a 12 inch surface to cook on. This skillet actually measures 8 1/2 inches on the bottom. It is 12 inches at the top. I don't cook on the top, so, it was returned. If you are looking for a skillet that has an 8 1/2 inch bottom surface, this 12" skillet is for you.
Fantastic Large Skillet, (What's this?) I added this skillet to the set of Rachael Ray matching cookware and it is great for cooking larger quanties of food. It also gives you more room to turn omlets and browning large roasts. This skillet heats evenly over the entire surface. It needs to be hand washed like any fine cookware. I had hoped for a 12" glass cover, but I had to get one from a cheaper skillet, doesn't match, but works. I am very happy with my purchase.
Fantastic pan, (What's this?) We have had this pan a few weeks and love it so far. The handle does stay cool. It is incredibly easy to clean. The heating is really even, even though that's not always true with our stove. The sides are a bit higher than I'm used to, so for something like pancakes it's a bit harder to flip, but it works great for most things, and the surface makes flipping easy.
fry pan, rachel ray, (What's this?) The pan was larger than I expected, but that was OK with me! It is really great - no sticking and easy to use.
Awesome!, (What's this?) My hubby doesn't like "star powered" products, he thinks they're hokey. However, he LOVES this pan as much as I do. Who cares about the orange, it's the best non-stick pan I've ever used and I've tried at least 6 different brands. I would recommend this line of cookware to anybody.
OK, but ..., We had one of these and really liked it, but then the Teflon started coming off - big time. There were three people in the house using this, so I can't vouch for how the pan was treated, but we do tend to use plastic with Teflon.

In September, I bought another just like it, and I was determined to make sure that only plastic utensils were used with it. After just three months, the Teflon is coming off. I know that the problem is with the pan and not with the users because I was the principal user and the only washer, and I know the others used plastic tools when cooking.

This is a nice-looking large pan that cooks very well, but I don't like eating Teflon.

Speaking of "large," measurements can be deceptive. The 12" on this product refers to the cooking surface, while most other pans measure from the outside rim. This makes it difficult to know what you are getting unless you buy in a store - something I seldom do. Give me Amazon Prime every time.
Love my Rachael Ray 12-Inch Skillet!, (What's this?) This skillet makes a very nice addition to my set of Rachael Ray pans. It's large enough to hold a one pan meal and can go into the oven with the heat resistant handle.

    Norpro Nonstick Omelet Pan

    Norpro Nonstick Omelet Pan
Omelet pan, (What's this?) The pan was fine but there were no screws to attach the handle. Off to Ace with it to try to find one that fit! Not fun.....
Cheap price, works well, I was a bit nervous about purchasing this item because of the price and was afraid it'd be just really cheap and not work well. So far I've had no issues with this pan and have made some of my best omelettes. Both real eggs and egg beaters have been used in this pan, and both types come out nice and fluffy. The pan does not come assembled, however, the only assembly required is screwing the handle on both parts of the pan, nothing major. The only thing I'd recommend, as I would with any pan regardless of "non-stick", I'd use a non-stick spray when cooking. I've done this and have had absolutely no issues with sticking and clean up is very easy.
omelet pan, pan arrived unaslembled with no instructions for aslemby or use. coating began to peel off after fourth use with no implements ever touching the surface of the pan.
Just like Mom's, (What's this?) Just like what my Mom used while I was growing up. Cooks eggs perfectly. Makes eggs even taste better...
Not so good omelet pan, (What's this?) I was very disappointed in this omelet pan. Luckily, my husband bought me a Kitchen Selectives electric omelet pan for Christmas. It is awesome.

Just goes to prove, you get what you pay for.

I do not recommend this pan at all.
LOOK NO FURTHER, (What's this?) I love this pan. My mom had one for years and years and she just recently passed away 2 years ago and somewhere along the way the pan disappeared. I was so excited to see that Amazon could get it for me. It makes awesome omelettes.
    omelete pan, (What's this?)
very well thought out idea saves a lot of time turning the Omelete and putting the fillings in and very good value for the money.

Earth Pan Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Skillet

Earth Pan Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Skillet
Not Non-Stick!, After using this pan only four times it no longer was non-stick!
I had to throw it away because residue of eggs would not come off.
waste of money, (What's this?) bought it as I did not want to buy teflon.it was difficult to clean from the start -- it didn't feel like non stick. I used it to make omelet, and heat some indian tortillas---the gray surface turned brown --with 2-3 uses and now 1 mth later the pan is completely black. It was a total waste of money. I never put it in the dishawsher. I don;t want cookware to last forever but this didn't last even a wk .. would never recommend to buy it .
Non-stick doesn't last :0(, If I had reviewed this product two months after purchase, it would have been filled with exclamations of how these pans far exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately, after 6 months of moderate use, they are useless. The pan itself looks beautiful -- not a mark on it, but the non-stick surface no longer works. Very disappointed since I'd hoped I would be able to use something that would be healthier for my family and our bird.
Pan Thrown Away, (What's this?) I purchased this pan to replace a 15 yr old non stick pan that I got at a second hand store. The old pan didn't have much surface left on it.
Pleased and disappointed, (What's this?) This is a great product, but...very disappointed that the Product Features said "dishwasher safe". The fine print arriving with the product says: "This cookware is NOT dishwasher safe. Using it in the dishwasher will void your entire warranty". I expect more from Amazon.
Pan is not perfect, (What's this?) The first time I used it for omelets, it was great. But scrambled eggs with vegetables stick. The jury is still out.
Change name to Stick Pan, I tried this sandflow earth pan in the hopes that doing something for the environment would pay off. After using the pan for less than a few months and following the rules, food sticks worse to it than on any other cookware. Even with the use of a light oil coat, food still sticks and cleaning the pan is takes much work. Now I'm wondering if the manufacturer will recycle the pan.
Big Disappointment, (What's this?) My Earth Pan Hard Anodized Nonstick 10 inch skillet was a big disappointment. Because I have had many non-stick fry pans over the years and I realize that their life span is short even though we follow all the directions, I thought that this product seemed more durable and more able to fit my needs. I followed all the many directions for use (including ones we weren't warned about because we have a Corning stove top) but it was purchased August 18 online from Amazon, and here it is May 18, 2011 and a cast iron skillet compares favorably to it (and would have been much cheaper).
Good for 1month--NOT NON STICK long term, (What's this?) I purchased this for my husband so we could get rid of the old flaking teflon and wanted to go with something "Greener". My husband loves to make over easy eggs and for the first month this pan worked great, but now our eggs are sticking VERY badly. Even with butter or oil, we have sticking problems.

I wish it was the pan for us, but everything sticks now. So, I search on for a pan that isn't toxic and doesn't stick...because this one might be non toxic, but it does stick to food!

I never used any metal tools on it. I always hand washed, never used the dishwasher on it. I have treated this as a baby and can't believe my treatment of pan could have been the cause of the non stick no longer working.
not so non-stick, (What's this?) thsi pan worked great the very first time we used it, ever since it sticks, and the lable tells you you don't need butter or oil- but you really do.

Get serious about your cooking and your green credentials with this 12-inch hard-anodized skillet from Farberware's Earth Pan II line. Harder than stainless steel, the cookware's hard-anodized exterior is dense, nonporous, and highly wear-resistant for extra durability and professional performance, as well as quick and even heat distribution to help reduce hot spots. Oven-safe up to 600 degrees F, its dual riveted stainless-steel handle offers a comfortable, confident grip. Earth Pan cookware works on all cooking surfaces, except for induction cookers. The foundation of all Earth Pan cookware is the unique SandFlow nonstick coating that originates from sand--used to manufacture kitchenware like glass and silicone bakeware. Just like the nonstick pans you've used over the years, Earth Pan cookware is formulated to provide excellent food release without use of cooking oils, and the pans are easy to clean. Based on industry lab tests, SandFlow nonstick surfaces are three times more durable than ceramic-based surfaces and they require 33-percent less energy to cure than traditional nonstick pans. The SandFlow coating does not contain PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene, also known as the brand name Teflon) or PFOA (a key processing agent in making nonstick and stain-resistant materials, including Teflon)--both of which have raised health concerns in recent years. Laboratory animals exposed to high doses of PFOA suffered cancer, low birth weight, and a suppressed immune system, though PTFE-manufactured nonstick cookware is considered an insignificant exposure source of PFOA. This skillet is dishwasher safe, though handwashing is recommended to ensure longevity. Metal utensils and abrasive cleaners or brushes should be avoided. Earth Pan's packaging material and inserts are made from at least 50-percent recycled fiber with all materials being 100-percent recyclable.
